Defer Dragon's Burning News
June 7, 2019
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Wow, this school year flew by so quickly! I can't believe next week is the last week of school. We celebrated this week with Field Day, the Talent Show, and a Leadership Team field trip. Next week classes will celebrate with class picnics at the parks and our fifth grade promotion ceremony.
A special thank you to all the volunteers who make the field trips and special events possible at Defer. All of the hours of service you give to our community to support our work and provide outstanding resources for our children. We appreciate all you do to help your children at home to be successful at school.
We have a wonderful Defer Community and I feel honored to work with you and your families each day. Our partnership helps all of our students grow as leaders and learners.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Dr. Rheaume

Summer Learning Opportunties
To help students maintain their learning from the school year, summer is a great opportunity to practice reading, writing, and math skills each day. Just 20 minutes of reading each day can make a difference in student reading skills and prevent summer slide. The summer goal should be to maintain skills learned throughout the school year with daily practice.
