Updated Sunday Mass Timetable
21 December 2021
Dear Parishioners,
21 December 2021
Over the past few weeks we have been returning to Sunday Mass within the Government’s Traffic light system under orange. For the most part this has proved successful in trying to make Mass available for all Parishioners. We have been able to provide Masses for unlimited numbers of people to attend and Masses limited to 50 people to allow the vulnerable to attend a smaller gathering, this would include those who are not vaccinated.
For the most part this is working well. However, as in all situations around Covid, we need to adapt the timetable to overcome some problems we have faced.
Sunday 6pm has been limited to 50 people and requires booking. This has not worked. Therefore, we will be CANCELLING the Sunday evening 6pm Mass until we reach GREEN in the Government Traffic light system which is less restrictive.
To alleviate the stress that may come onto the timetable because of this cancellation we will continue with 9am Sunday morning until further notice. This Mass allows a lot more people to attend as it requires a Proof of Vaccine certificate.
Sunday 7:30am Mass will continue as a Mass limited to 50 people and requires that you book online to attend. Please note if you are vaccinated do not attend this Mass. As a community we must continue to support those who are not vaccinated and allow them to attend Sunday Mass.
Monday to Friday Masses at the Cathedral throughout the holidays and January will be at 8am and limited to 50 people. However, each Friday during this time there will also be a 12:05 Mass which requires proof of Vaccine (this includes confession at 11:30am).
Thank you for your understanding.
Blessings this Christmas,
Fr Darren McFarlane
