Just a Quick Hello!
July 2020
Sharing a Few Things
The recommendation of mask and social distancing. The summer school students have been doing great with wearing masks! Masks will be expected to be worn when coming in and leaving the building, through the hallways, and bathrooms. Students may take the mask off in their classroom if they are socially distanced of 6 feet from each other. If you are working with a small group all need to be masked since they will be closer than the required 6 feet. With that being said classrooms will need to be rearranged to help make this happen. I sent out an email to staff this week about desks. I have heard from some of you so far about how you are thinking of making your space work.
We have a recommended capacity for our lunchroom of 67 students at a time. This will mean we will have to have some classes eat lunch in their classrooms. I will work out the coverage for your duty free lunch when that happens.
A lot of plans and information has been shared this week as administrators have been back to the buildings. Whew! A lot of it is still changing as you read this. I do feel with confidence that the district leaders are really looking out for the staff and students' safety and have been putting a lot of work into the restart.
We haven't shared class lists with teachers yet because we need to gain information from our parents to find out what students will be doing face to face and which students will decide to do the distant learning. That should happen in the coming week.
I have a lot more information to share with everyone but that will be coming in the following weeks. I don't want to bombard you with too much while you are still on vacation.
