Olathe South High School
Principal's Corner
Our Principal Advisory student and faculty groups have been working on a project called Falcon Moments. This project will work to tell the 41 year story of Olathe South. We hope to highlight the most memorable moments of our athletic teams, activities and classrooms along with highlights from the current year. We are planning for this display to be placed in our event entrance so that our community guests, parents and students will see our story as they enter the building for school or an event.
We know that many of our parents and guardians are also Olathe South alumni and we would like to reach out for you to share your memories both as a parent and as a student. You can use this link to share your Falcon Moment!

Olathe South Visits JCCC
Four students from Olathe South visited Johnson County Community College on Friday, November 18, 2022 to view their newly renovated Visual Art Department. Those senior students, left to right are, Ashley Rottinghaus, Ashtyn Grissom, Evan Santos, Devon Schmidt and their instructor, Dr. Messersmith participated in a Raku firing at the college. Laura-Harris Gascogne was the instructor who took the students through the Raku process. Raku is a Japanese style pottery first made during 1580s; the process is characterized by the removal of a clay object from the kiln at the height of the firing and causing it to cool very rapidly. Raku was originally designed for the tea ceremony in Japan.
PE Uniforms
As we end the first semester and look forward to the start of second semester, a reminder that Freshmen are required to wear the PE uniform, regardless of if they are in PE Concepts or Strength & Conditioning. If your student needs to purchase a uniform before the start of second semester, you may do so on the district website. The cost is $10 for the shirt and $10 for the shorts. Make sure to use the TouchBase feature.
