School Board meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at the Haines Center until further notice. All meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. Agenda packets are available at district.d303.org.

Superintendent’s Report
- The St. Charles East Homecoming activities were a huge success!
- North High School’s Homecoming week begins October 12.
- Dr. Pearson announced four students - 2 from East and 2 from North - have been selected as National Merit Semi-Finalists. In addition, 26 students from both schools have been selected as Commended Students.
- The District launched the D303 Extraordinary Campaign on Friday by asking staff members to nominate a colleague to be recognized. We have received 9 nominations to date and will be opening it up to our community by October 1.

Adoption of the FY 21-22 Mid Valley budget passed by a vote of 6-0.
Board Docs
- Members of the school board were asked to approve a contract with Diligent Corporation to provide a new system for board meeting documentation management.
- District 303 staff members will receive training and documents will be moved over to the new system so that it can be launched by the beginning of 2022.
- The motion was approved by a vote of 6-0
Board Member Conference/Meeting Registration - passed by a vote of 6-0
- The Triple I Conference held in November provides School Board members with the opportunity to engage in professional development specifically for School Board members from across Illinois.
- The conference is hosted by Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB), Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA), and Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO).
- Board member expenses must be approved.
Citizen Advisory Committee Charge - passed by a vote of 6-0
- On September 23, the CAC kicked off its first meeting of the 2021-2022 school year and welcomed 13 new members to the committee.
- In addition, they created two tasks for the CAC based on conversations the board had during the meeting on September 20 (see the "For Discussion" section of the Special School Board Meeting below).

Superintendent's Report
- iReady information is complete and will be presented at the Learning and Teaching Committee meeting on November 15, 2021.
- The Alliance for College, Career, and Student Success (formerly Alliance for Career and College Readiness) worked with Ed Systems to align the structure of how the organization works. The first governing meeting is next week. An intergovernmental agreement will be brought to a future board meeting.

New Citizen Advisory Committee Members
- Mrs. McCabe reviewed the interviewing process and welcomed 14 new members.
- Mrs. Bell thanked all the community members who applied. She indicated that the members were intentionally chosen to ensure there is a broad representation from the community.
District Enrollment
- The board presented the initial district enrollment report. A fuller report will be presented in October.
- Mrs. Barker reported that overall enrollment is lower than expected in secondary schools and higher than expected in elementary schools.

Dr. Pearson and members of the Senior Leadership team reviewed high level board goals in the areas of:
- Innovative Learning
- Responsible Stewardship
- Quality Staff
- Communication and Community Relations

Citizen Advisory Committee Charge
- Mrs. McCabe and Mrs. Bell provided board members with the charge that was written in 2019.
- They also created a task about public comment during board meetings. They want to bring this task to the CAC for discussion.
- The Board asked that Mrs. McCabe and Mrs. Bell create a second task related to communication between the Board and the community not related to public comment at meetings.
- Both tasks were brought to the meeting on September 27 for approval.
