"Building the Reign of God, One Child at a Time"
Dear Parents and/or Guardians:
As we enter Advent and approach the Christmas season, we are provided with the opportunity to reflect on God’s love and mercy for us. As Pope Francis reflected, he said, “The season of Advent restores … hope which does not disappoint for it is founded on God’s Word. A hope which does not disappoint, simply because the Lord never disappoints!... Let us think about and feel this beauty.”
With online reporting finalized and Parent-Teacher Interviews completed there are only a few weeks remaining before students will begin their much deserved Christmas break. Thank you to all who were able to attend Parent-Teacher Interviews, even if they were online. Your support and involvement in your child’s education are appreciated, and all those involved, benefit when we are working together as a team. We continue to encourage parents to be involved in their children’s education in as many ways as they can.
As this Christmas season approaches, we begin with anticipation and preparation for the birth of Jesus. This season is a time when we can share with others in return for all the gifts God has given us, especially the gift of Jesus. Let us remember this as we go through the Holy Season of Advent. Unfortunately, we are unable to have an Advent Concert this year. We hope to produce some videos showcasing the gifts and talents of the students and send them out to each family.
Advent offers us a chance to force ourselves to slow down – to think about what the meaning of Christmas really is. During the Season of Advent, we pray that this Holy time will help us to come closer to God and recognize His existence and purpose in our lives. We should prepare ourselves to receive God’s most abiding gift, the birth of Jesus. During Advent and Christmas, we need to relearn how to accept each other with full hearts. We strive to welcome the outsider, heal family divisions, and spend quality time with family and friends. Through Jesus’ birth, we experience the joy of the season and hope for the future.
God grant that this very different Christmas be the very best for each and every one of you and may your New Year be blessed with joy, happiness, and the grace of God. May you cherish your time with loved ones and enjoy this festive and holy season together.
