A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents,
As we come to the close of another school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each student, parent and staff member for making this school year so successful. I am thankful for each one of you and would like to wish you a very relaxing and safe summer. To our families who will not be returning to David Elementary, we wish you the best and hope you will come back to visit.
A letter regarding our “Meet the Teacher” will be sent via email the beginning of August. Again, have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing you at “Meet the Teacher” on Monday, August 8th.
Sincerely,
Lee Allen

YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION
EARLY RELEASE DAY - THURSDAY, MAY 26TH
Thursday, May 26th, will be an early release day for all CISD students. The school day will begin at 8:05 a.m. and end at 12:10 p.m. Normal bus routes will run beginning at 12:10 p.m.
If possible, students are encouraged to bring a sack lunch that day due to time constraints. However, a full menu will be available for purchase. Lunch times will be as follows:
K: 10:55, 1st: 11:00
2nd: 11:05, 3rd: 11:10
4th 11:15
We request that parents not join their child for lunch on this day because all students will be eating in their classrooms.
LUNCH SIGN UP
A link is listed below for parents to sign up to have lunch with his/her child. We are still only allowing one parent, per child for this sign up period. Due to limited space, we will only be able to allow one parent per day, per student, for a total of 8 per grade level.
Just a few reminders:
- One parent, per child during each sign up period
- Please put your student's name and teacher in the comments section
- Parents, please bring your own lunch -- Your child can still purchase from the cafeteria
- You may bring an outside lunch for your child, but just remind him/her not to order from the cafeteria
- Bring your driver's license for check-in
Please use the Sign-Up Genius link below.
Clinic News
If you have checked medication in to the clinic this year, please note:
· You will receive a reminder letter next week. Medication check out begins Wednesday, May 18.
· Medications must be picked up by Thursday, May 26 at 4PM.
· Emergency medications should remain at school until your child’s last day.
· Medication must be picked up/signed out by an adult. We’ll do our best to make this fast and easy! Feel free to call or email to set up a time that works for you.
· Medications must be returned or discarded. No medication will be kept in the clinic over the summer.
· If you have questions, would like your medication discarded, or would like to set up a specific time for pick up, just let us know!
Next week—Field Day Fun! Watch for specific details from your child’s teacher, but plan to dress for fun in the sun! Sunscreen can be applied at home for these morning events. A refillable water bottle is a great idea, too.
We’ve had an uptick in COVID cases recently. If your child’s temperature is 100 degrees F or higher, or they are experiencing multiple symptoms, please check in with your doctor or get a COVID test. We ask that you provide a healthcare provider return-to school note or a negative COVID test result when your child is ready to return. (In-home tests are fine—label with the student’s name and date and send a photo by email. Many insurance plans provide in-home test kits with no co-pay—check with your pharmacist.) Let’s plan for a healthy start to Summer Break!
