"On March 21 annually, people all over the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing bright, fun, silly socks. The date is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have three copies of their twenty-first chromosome, and socks were chosen because the Ds chromosomes look like mismatched socks."
