Hawk Talk
Message from Mr. Carlson
I Love to Read
Students wrapped up February I Love to Read month yesterday. Today we celebrated Read Across America with a schoolwide pajama day. Students have done a fabulous job reading all month and many were able to get a free book from the library for their efforts. There is still time to turn in your Pink minutes sheet. If you read a total of 300 minutes or more you will receive a book of your choice to take home and keep. You have until next Friday, March 8th to turn in your sheets.
Reading = Bundtlets in March and beyond!
We had such a great response in February that we want to keep the reading momentum rolling in March. Coming home next week, you will find a new reading log for March. This is a reading program through Nothing Bundt Cakes in Blaine to keep students reading the remainder of the school year.
For every 400 minutes your student reads, they can bring the completed reading log to the Blaine Nothing Bundt Cake location in exchange for a bundlet of their choice. They can receive one bundtlet from March 2024 all the way through May 2024! Extra reading logs will be in the library when students are ready for their next one. Keep up the great work and happy reading!
All next week we will celebrate the great Dr. Seuss with special themes each day!

Thank you to all the parents who went through the lost and found during conferences. Hopefully you were able to retrieve some of your student's belongings. We will display the lost and found for one more week before it gets donated. It will be displayed outside the library all next week for students to take a look and see if they can find items that belong to them.
The lost and found will be donated after Friday, March 8th.
Parents...Please make sure to put your student's names on everything they bring to school.
We do our best to return items with names on them.

Centennial Preschool Registration Opens March 1
The Centennial School District offers high-quality part-day and full-day preschool experiences. Preschool classes are designed to prepare students, ages 3-5, and families for success in kindergarten, practicing both academic and social skills in a “learning-through-play” philosophy. Full-day classrooms are located at each of the elementary schools in the Centennial School District; part-day classrooms are at the Early Childhood Center. Our preschool has earned a 4 Star Parent Aware Rating. Registrations received between March 1 and March 22 will be included in the placement lottery.
