FROM the PRINCIPAL...
Dear Westbrook Families,
Thank you to the Lincoln Show Choir who performed for our students and staff this week. Such a talented group and always so fun to see former Westbrook students.
Our last school day this month will be today, Thursday, December 21st. I wish you and your family a happy and healthy holiday break. I hope you have time to relax and enjoy time with family and friends.
We look forward to seeing our students back at Westbrook and continuing our work together in the new year on Tuesday, January 9th. Monday, January 8 is a non-student attendance day.

Kindergarten Enrollment Information for 2024-2025
Westbrook’s Kindergarten program is a half-day program with a choice of either a morning (AM) or afternoon (PM) session, scheduled from Monday through Friday. Children must have reached the age of 5 on or before September 1, 2024, in order to be eligible for 24-25 kindergarten registration.
Families will have the opportunity to enter a lottery for enrollment in the morning (AM) program. The lottery will utilize a random number generator to establish the order of placement. Once all available slots for the AM classes are filled, students will be assigned to the afternoon (PM) session. For those students who participated in the lottery but were not selected for the morning program, their randomly assigned number will determine their position on the AM waitlist. If any openings become available in the morning program, we will contact families accordingly.
LOTTERY PARTICIPATION will require pre-enrollment and residency verification to be completed by Friday, February 16th with any outstanding submitted before Friday, February 23rd.
Steps for Kindergarten Enrollment
Registering your child for kindergarten includes the following three steps:
Step 1. Online Pre-Enrollment
All families are required to click on this enrollment LINK (accessible on January 9, 2024) to provide information prior to scheduling your in-person residency verification appointment (Step 2). Step 1 MUST be completed before moving to Step 2.
Step 2. In-Person Residency Verification
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) must bring the following documents to Westbrook School during their scheduled appointment time to establish residency:
The child’s original birth certificate (Office staff will make a copy & return the original.)
A copy of a current lease, monthly mortgage statement, OR current tax bill.
Two different current utility bills for two consecutive months (total of 4 bills.)
Please sign up for an appointment time using this LINK. (accessible on January 9, 2024)
Step 3. Online Registration
The final step of the enrollment process occurs in late spring of 2024. District 57 will email families with a SNAP code and a link to the registration website. Residency verification must be complete in order for parents/guardians to receive the code and link.
