In Case You Missed It:
Our Spring Open House for rising 5th graders and their families went extremely well on Tuesday. Thank you to our Queen of Event Organizing, Anna Whalen! I also appreciate all the 6th grade teachers, Casey Giambalvo, Lauren Black, Tonnette Wicker, Vincent Pienaar, Tommy Harrington, Katherine Allmond, Camm McNeill, Alison Poole, Cole Merricks, Kevin Degon, Joanna Perkins, and our PTSO Board for helping! Our AVID Student Ambassadors did a fabulous job welcoming, assisting, directing, and touring. It takes a village to do all we do at SanLee. I am super proud of our village!
We had an excellent turnout for our ESL Parent night. Thank you to Sara Barker for organizing, and Jovanna Lopez (SLMS ESL Tutor), Tonnette Wicker, and Joanna Perkins for welcoming and helping where needed.
Make sure you read Amy Thomas' email from Friday April 5, concerning copyrighted materials posted on your webpage. The infographic has excellent reminders to keep us all and our district out of trouble. Teacher Pay Teachers materials may not be put on your website (even with a link) for kids or anyone else.
I received the March volunteer totals from the PTO Thrift Shop. SanLee has 428 hours! This is INCREDIBLE and due to a couple of relatives of a 6th grader at SLMS. Those of you that have been at SL for a while know that we usually have to push hard to get the 250 hours required to obtain any benefit from the profits. Right now the closest school has 277 hours. So we are in very excellent shape. Our PTSO should see a nice size check next year. :)
And just in case you missed this...FIVE days until Spring Break 2019!
