From the Counseling Office
Greetings from the Counselor’s Corner!
According to CASEL, the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is the “process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.”
Mr. Sokoloski, Mrs. LaFleur and Mrs. Heemsoth are committed to helping the children of East Middle School navigate social and emotional issues that they may encounter. In an effort to encourage social-emotional growth we are using a website to share with students and their families strategies to help them grow and learn with a social-emotional focus. If you have a spare moment, please check out our website. This link is also available on our East Middle School website.
