Carus School News
Dear Carus Families,
As we embrace the vibrant energy of Spring, I wanted to take a moment to touch base with all of you and share some important updates from our school.
First and foremost, I am incredibly proud of our students' hard work and dedication as we dive into state testing season. Our teachers have been diligently preparing our students, and I am confident that they will showcase their knowledge and skills with confidence. I encourage you to continue offering your support and encouragement to your children during this time.
Alongside state testing, we have a range of exciting events and activities planned for the remainder of the school year. From field trips to special assemblies, track club, carnival, creating with our artist in residence and more, there will be ample opportunities for our students to engage, learn, and have fun!
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you'd like to share. Your feedback is instrumental in helping us continue to improve and grow.
Warm Regards,
Nicole Goff
Carus Principal

Student SEED Surveys
Canby School District will offer Oregon’s Student Educational Equity Development (SEED) Survey to students in grades 3-11, as required by Oregon law, during state testing this spring. The SEED Survey gives students the opportunity to voice their experiences in Oregon’s education system and is designed to capture their sense of belonging and experiences at school.
What is the SEED Survey?
It asks students about access to learning resources, learning opportunities, self-efficacy beliefs, and sense of belonging
Grades 6-11 includes questions about career-technical education and extracurricular activities
Grades 9-11 includes questions about post-graduation planning
Multiple choice, with additional open-ended questions for grades 6-11
Takes about 10-20 minutes to complete
Students may decline to answer individual questions
Oregon law (HB 2656) permits parents or guardians to decline to have their student participate in the SEED Survey. Any student who is excused from participating will have supervised study time or another learning activity while other students are completing the survey.
If you would like your student to participate in the SEED Survey, no further action is required.
If you do not want your student to participate in the SEED Survey, please click here to opt out. Please respond by Friday, April 26.
