College, how is it different and what is test optional?
College may be an option for students with disabilities but it's important to understand how it's different. Also, many Ohio Colleges and Universities are permanently test optional. Read through the newsletter to find out what test optional means, how OOD may be able to assist in college as well as to understand the differences between school services and college accommodations. School districts design instruction for the student, colleges provide accommodations. All colleges have tutoring centers available for any student, but students seek that assistance by booking an appointment at the center. Self-advocacy is key!

Many colleges and universities are changing the admission requirements of needing to pass the ACT/SAT. In some cases they are eliminating the ACT/SAT altogether or they are pausing the requirement.
