In Person PTO Meeting - March 17th
The Wild Robot by Peter Brown ~ Part 1
Today the students discussed the following questions with each other.
- Did Roz purposely camouflage herself? Why or why not?
- What events tell us that the animals are starting to understand and trust Roz a little more by the end of chapter 26?
Take a look at the short video below where Dr. Holly Jones tells us about hiding in the wild and makes a connection to Roz in Peter Brown's "The Wild Robot."
And don't forget...
- I am asking parents and students to take turns reading the weekly assigned pages at home with their child/children. Even if your child has read this book before, One School, One Book allows a reread to be more exciting and interactive as a family. That's right, the whole family!
Read a Thon Fundraising Goal
After a few small glitches this week, the Read a Thon site is booming. We are really seeing our minutes rise and lots of digital play coins collected. As noted last week and below, a portion of our fundraising will be donated to Blink Now. The other monies will be used to upgrade the jungle gym part of our playground. See below for one company's proposal and join us at the PTO meeting on March 17th for more information. Thank you for your support.

Attention Chorus Families
We are so pleased to announce that on March 10th, 2022 Choral Composer, Stacey V. Gibbs will be coming to work with the Lafayette, CMS, and CHS Choir classes. Thanks to a CEF Grant this Choral Festival is a full day event located in the Chatham Performing Arts center (connected to CHS). Students will be excused from class that day but are required to check in with their teachers to make up any missed work.
