Principal's Message
Week of March 18, 2024
Greetings Tiger Families
We had over 50 community members and parents joining us for DEAR Day (Drop Everything And Read). Thank you to those of you who came and read to our students. It was great to see the number of students and staff members who participated in our dress like your favorite character day as a culminating activity to our Literacy Week.
Our students in grades 3-5 will begin testing in the next 2 weeks starting this week. Our staff has worked hard to prepare students both academically and emotionally. They have been teaching students test taking techniques and strategies to reduce anxiety before and during tests. While some students like the challenge of taking tests, we recognize that others may develop negative feelings and have some anxiety during these times, and we hope to address those feelings. Additionally, with the help of our intervention teachers, students requiring alternative or small group settings, as identified by their teachers, will have this opportunity.
From the parents end, we ask that students come to school every day well rested and that they have a healthy breakfast to start their day. Some grade levels, will start testing right at 8:00 am, so arriving to school on time will be important. Thank you for partnering with us to help ensure students do their best.
