VARIETY SHOW INFORMATION
The Variety Show is next Thursday, May 22. All permission slips are due to Miss Fischer now. Music and Props should be delivered to Mrs. O'Brien by Monday, May 19.
The Variety Show will be taped by Mr. Luca during the student body assembly Thursday afternoon. Every participant will receive a copy. All students should wear their costumes for the afternoon performance as it will be the one recorded. If you still wish to record your child's performance during the evening show, we are asking that you please stand to the side of the gym so you do not obstruct the view of your neighbors. Presentation of gifts should be done after the show has concluded.
All performers must report to Cambridge at 6:30 on Thursday. The show will start at 7 pm sharp.

~ NURSE NOTES ~
From Mrs. Guidice's Health Office
Allergy season is upon us. Here are some helpful suggestions of things that can be done at home.
1. Check Pollen Counts. Before heading outside, check the local news or visit the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology’s National Allergy Bureau for up-to-date readings.
2. Shut the Windows. Good advice for at home and in the car to help keep pollen out. Cool with the air conditioner instead.
3. Move outdoor activities to the afternoon. Pollen counts are usually highest from 5 to 10 AM. If you plan to garden, mow the lawn or take on other allergen-stirring chores, wear a mask.
4. Head out on rainy days. Moisture helps clear pollen from the air. Dry, windy days are more likely to have a lot of pollen.
5. Shower. After being outside, it’s a good idea to toss your clothes in the hamper and rinse pollen from your skin and hair. Get undressed in the bathroom not in your bedroom. Change your pillow case daily to prevent sleeping with pollen.
6. Dry laundry indoors. As nice as the fresh-air smell may be, pollen can cling to your clothes, sheets and towels.
7. Try a Neti pot. Rinsing your sinuses is a quick, natural and effective way to flush out mucus and allergens so you can breathe easier. You can also use a saline spray.
8. Run over-the-counter drugs by the doctor. Some over-the-counter medications work best if taken before the pollen hits the air. (Think April 1st or April Fool’s Day). Some allergists recommend treatment about two weeks before symptoms typically appear.
9. Wear a hat when outdoors to keep pollen off of your hair.
10. Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly at the base of the nose to catch pollen while outdoors.
11. Wear sunglasses to provide a partial block of the eyes from pollen.
