Attention Incoming Kindergarten Parents!
Parent University: Becoming an Elementary School Parent
Parent University: Becoming an Elementary School Parent is an interactive presentation geared toward incoming kindergarten and first grade parents and guardians to better prepare them for this new transition in their child's life. The purpose of this presentation is to share what to expect as your child enters school full time and how parents can support their child’s emotional development throughout the early school years. A panel discussion among Indian Prairie School District 204 staff members will round out the evening.
Please note: This presentation is open to any IPSD 204 parent/guardian of an incoming kindergarten and/or first grade student. The information presented will not address any individual elementary school's policies or procedures.
The presentation will be offered both in-person and virtual. The content presented will be the same at both sessions.

Time: 6-7 pm

White Eagle in the Top 25!!
We are thrilled to announce that White Eagle has been ranked in the top 25 in Illinois elementary schools on the 2024 Niche Best Schools list! This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and the support from our wonderful community. Thank you for being a part of our school's success!
Celebrating our diverse languages!
Did you know that out of the 565 students at White Eagle, we have 402 students that speak two or more languages at home?! There are 44 different languages that White Eagle students bring to our school everyday. We have a little touch of different parts of the world right here in this building. We think that makes our school a pretty amazing place to be! For the next four weeks, White Eagle is excited to celebrate our uniqueness by taking some time to learn with and from each other. We have several dual or multilingual staff members that have helped us create fun learning experiences for our students. We are going to focus on a different language each week and all of us are going to become second language learners. We kicked off our first week with the Telugu language. There are almost 60 students in our school that speak Telugu!
Ask your student(s) to share with you what they have learned from our Telugu speakers this week.
Here is a cheat sheet so you can impress your White Eagle Wolf with all of your wisdom 🙂
FUN FACTS:
Telugu is an Indian language spoken in the southern part of India and is one of the oldest languages in the world. Telugu is the second most spoken language in India and 15th largest spoken language in the world. Telugu has more letters in its alphabet than any other language and every Telugu word ends with a vowel.

Family Math Night for Grades K, 1 and 2
ATTENTION Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade Families, Let’s Play!!
Students and their families in Grades K through Grade 2 are invited to join us for a Family Math Game Night on Tuesday, April 23rd from 6:00 - 7:30 pm! Doors will open at 5:45 pm.
Research shows that playing games with your child that involve numbers, cards, dice, counting, and logic provides important experiences in helping them make sense of mathematics. This will be a night of playing games, learning why playing games and talking about math is so important, as well as having some good old-fashioned family fun! There will be raffles and a giveaway. Look for more information after Spring Break!
We want to extend a HUGE thank you to the Indian Prairie Education Foundation (IPEF) for providing the grant to fun this amazing event!
