Stratified SquamousEpithelial Cell
Cell's Function
Due to the multi-layered wall the cells provide, the cell's function is to protect the area that it is located in.
Golgi Body
The Golgi Body receives products for the cell through vesical transport. Where then it processes them and packages them to be sent throughout the cell where needed.
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum
The Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum is a network of tubes that is located in the cytoplasm of the cell. It is used to transfer things through the cell which come from the Golgi Body.
Lysosomes
Lysosomes act as the stomach of the cell. They breakdown and digest waste materials and cellular debris that may be or can potentially be harmful to the cell.
Tissue
The stratified squamous epithelial cells make up what is called the serosa, which is the outer lining of the vagina.
Above is the layers of the vaginal wall which the Serosa helps make up.
How does this help the organ?
The serosa is the outer lining in the vaginal wall. It helps protects the organ from harmful materials getting through.
