Follow-up from Jesse Weinberger's Internet Safety Presentation
Our sincere thanks to the PTO, and especially Mrs. Diana McAndrew, for bringing Jesse Weinberger, a specialist in internet safety, to our students and our parents. Her presentations to both students and parents were eye-opening, and we are certain that the information she shared can be used immediately. The PTO hopes that Jesse’s talk provided helpful information about how you can guide your children through the everchanging world of digital technology.
The student data that was anonymously collected by Jesse will be available to parents on Gradelink until March 22, 2019. It should appear on the opening page once you log into your account. We hope that you are able to take the time to review it.
Jesse has also invited all SPB parents to attend any of her upcoming presentations in the Northeast Ohio area. The times and locations for these adult-only presentations can all be found at www.OvernightGeekUniversity.com or on Jesse’s OvernightGeekUniversity Facebook page. The OvernightGeekUniversity Facebook page is ‘open,’ so you do not need an account to access the information that Jesse provides there.

Playground/Lunchroom Supervision-Primary Grades
The links to sign up for playground/lunchroom supervision for parents/guardians of students in grades Kindergarten-2 for the remainder of the school year are now live!
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:00-1:00. Second Grade Parents/Guardians ROCK! There is only ONE TIME SLOT LEFT DURING MARCH! We are so grateful for the help!
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Lunch/Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:00 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting students to the cafeteria from recess, and supervising in the cafeteria. Volunteers will be with one teacher and two "core" volunteers each day to help direct. Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
Thank you again for your time and service to the students and teachers of SPB! Simply click on the grade level link to pick a time convenient for you: Grade 2, Grade 1, or Kindergarten.
Rice Bowls
Included in today’s communication folder is a CRS (Catholic Relief Services) Rice Bowl for each student. During the liturgical season of Lent, the Church asks us to pray, give alms, and fast. Students and their families are invited to use the Lenten calendar included with the Rice Bowl to guide their Lenten almsgiving. Money collected is used by Catholic Relief Services to alleviate hunger and poverty in communities overseas and in the U.S. Families are asked to return their Rice Bowls on Holy Thursday, April 18.
