Helping Kids Stay Safe
Using technology
Technology is great!
Technology can be a wonderful tool when used responsibly. The variety of content (websites, apps, TV/movies and songs) and ways to access that content (any internet ready device) is vast. As a parent, trying to keep up with your child's use of technology can feel overwhelming. Kids today are using multiple ways to seek out and communicate with the world around them. Many kids want to stay safe online but it's not always that easy.

Resources for you...
Check out commonsensemedia.org for lots of great resources. It has everything from website and app/game reviews to parent warnings about content. It is also a great place to go to find age appropriate content for your children and much more. You can also opt in to receive emails that review the latest movies apps and games.
www.imdb.com stands for Internet Movie Database and is another great resource for getting all the info on a movie before you or your kids watch it. Simply type a movie into the search bar and scroll down past the cast. At the bottom of the Storyline section is a parents guide. Here is an example from the movie Inside Out http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2096673/?ref_=nv_sr_1 Directed by Pete Docter, Ronnie Del Carmen
