PSCA has been working hard to advocate for students and Professional School Counselors across the commonwealth. Some of the great things happening are:
- School Counselor of Year nominations (coming August 2014)
- Scholarships for conference attendees (First-timers and Bill Lee Graduate Student)
- High School Scholarship opportunity for a selected student (maybe two if we raise enough money - this could be your student!)
- Brand new website (unveiling August 2014)
- Annual School Conference (reduced conference rate for members!)
- RAMP application scholarships - PSCA will cover your application fee!
- Continued support and advocacy of HB 1844 to mandate school counselors with a student to counselor ratio - see more information on HB1844 here
Why should I join PSCA?
- PSCA is working for school counselors across the commonwealth, you are ONE of us, JOIN!!
- PSCA will be a valuable resource regarding the new school counselor evaluation rubric (new evaluation starts July 2014)
- You receive a reduced rate for the annual conference and other professional development opportunities
- PSCA will give monies to WSCA for professional development based on the number of PSCA members
- You will have access to up to date information and emails as a member.
- You will have access to the "members only" section of the PSCA website - a great resource!
- It's my goal to increase membership, help me out, you won't regret it - plus, I will be raffling off goodies for PSCA members at the next WSCA meeting.
- Oh yeah, Carolyn Stone says you should - see below
