Welcome to March and the spring season. I am very proud of how our teams have maneuvered throughout this year from the well-above average heat to the freeze event in January. We are always ready to support our campuses. March begins the increase in work orders, projects, and event requests. Like always, I know we are ready for the challenge. Shining Star - Francisco Sanchez
We're thrilled to recognize Mr. Francisco Sanchez, Grounds & Athletic Fields Maintenance Specialist with 22 years of dedicated service. Francisco recently led welding projects at TC Marsh Prep, showcasing creativity in solving campus challenges.
His approach, driven by curiosity and enthusiasm, ensures student safety and engagement during crucial times. Francisco's ability to balance multiple projects with joy is truly inspiring, reflecting his motto, "Work with joy even when being pulled for multiple projects."
Beyond his exceptional work, Francisco's kindness and positivity create a collaborative atmosphere. His commitment to our core values makes him an exemplary model for our organization.

On February 13th, the MFS Business Team gathered for their monthly meeting. The Culture & Belonging Team joined presenting on Self Care for Positive Impact.

Get to Know Our Team - Maintenance Services
Beryl Bradford, Central Maintenance Project Manager has been an integral part of Dallas ISD for 28 years.
Beryl's journey with Dallas ISD began in 1995 when she was hired by HB Bell as an executive assistant for Staff Development. In 1998, she transitioned to the maintenance and facilities departments, where she has since made a lasting impact.
Her passion for transforming the learning atmosphere for students to leave a lifelong impression sparked her interest in her current field. Beryl comes from a family rooted in strong faith and education, and this background has undoubtedly influenced her commitment to making a positive impact.
Outside of work, Beryl enjoys a variety of activities, including walking, movies, plays, theater, concerts, and vacations.
Mike Smith, Maintenance Services Manager in the Northeast Quadrant has been with Dallas ISD for 33 years. Beyond his excellent maintenance skills, Michael is an avid outdoorsman. From fishing and hiking to surfing and skiing, he finds joy in all things outdoors.
Michael loves offroad biking, camping, and the freedom of road motorcycle rides.
Ray White, Manager of Maintenance Services in the Northwest Quadrant has been with Dallas ISD for 31 years, with a story rooted in family footsteps at Dallas ISD.
Ray is motivated by ensuring the safety of Dallas ISD students and staff, making schools secure. Outside of work, he enjoys motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and cherishing moments with his grandchildren.
One of Ray's notable achievements includes relocating T. Jefferson, Cary, and Walnut Hill to their temporary new homes after a tornado struck. His key productivity tip? Always communicate.
Adan Balderas, Manager of Maintenance Services in the Southwest Quadrant has been with Dallas ISD for 10 years, his journey with Dallas ISD began at the age of 16 as a summer helper in the grounds department.
Adan's passion for his current field is driven by the opportunity to provide essential services to the community. Beyond work, Adan actively participates in community service, volunteering with Buckner International, being a LULAC member, and serving on the Advisory Council of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Among his achievements, Adan has received recognition awards from Barrios Unidos and the Dallas Police Department.
An interesting fact about Adan is his involvement in car restoration, showcasing his unique talents outside of the professional realm.
Ronny Temple, Manager of Maintenance Services in the Southeast Quadrant has been with Dallas ISD for 2 years. Ronny's lifelong journey in the construction business fuels his passion in the field.
Beyond work, Ronny finds joy in dog agility, scuba diving, and traveling. His favorite book, "The Men That Made America," reflects his love for history.
Ronny believes that every day is a good day, and he lives by the motto that the impossible takes just a little longer.
