PBIS - SOAR
We had a fantastic beginning with our SOAR expectations! The hallways are so calm. I appreciate everyone holding each other and our students accountable for our "Zero is our Hallway Hero" expectations. I've seen adults go into rooms to talk instead of talking in the hallway!!!!!! Gabrielle Hannah had his mom make a "Zero is our Hero" shirt!
Also, be sure and check your mailboxes daily and check to see if you have a SOAR 200 ticket. The kids are really excited about this and so am I!
Google Docs and Planning - REPEAT
The coaches have created and shared with each team specific Google docs that will need to be complete prior to planning sessions. It is my expectation that EACH team member adds to these docs prior to the planning session. The reason for this is to give more time during planning to student learning and what to do if they are not learning or need enrichment, than discussing what they are suppose to know/be able to do. Every team member should contribute at least one clarifying statement about the TEKS in Q1, and add at least 1 lesson/activity in Q2-4 prior to planning sessions. That gives each team at least 5 ideas in Q2-4 and it will be easy to know that all teachers understand the learning expectation.

Positive Parent Contact
Remember each student is to have at least one positive parent contact every month. This can be an email, text, phone call, face to face, or perhaps mail a note home. Please do not 'count' messages/notes sent home in the daily SOAR binder.
Thank you to those who have shared their log with Patricia and I already. If you have not, please do so this week.
WOW Thank you - Jordan, Lynda, Sandra C., Belinda, and Phoebe who have shared their logs and made contact with parents already!
I've shared the log with you, please make a copy and share with Patricia and I (add your name to the title)

Big THANK YOU
Because of YOU, our parent academy was a huge success! Thank you so very much to everyone who participated and contributed to this very successful parent event. The energy throughout the evening was vibrant and positive. I know this is indicative of the great parent involvement we will have all year long!
