Some thoughts for this Week
Edition #27
Hello Woodsy Owls,
This is the beginning of the third and final trimester of the 2023-2024 school year. WOW! Time has flown. And somehow, by doing a little each day we have multiple students that have run over 50 miles during their recesses. This just goes to show what can be accomplished being tenacious and sticking to a goal day after day after day. We adults can learn so much from these kiddos.
I so appreciate those of you that have reached out regarding student attendance. Showing up at school is so very crucial to a child's success. That being said, please remember that a student must be 24 hours without vomiting or diarrhea or a fever to return to school. Sending a sick child to school often means you are returning midday to take them home. It also potentially shares the illness with others. While the balance between missing enough days where you are sent a state mandated letter and not sending an ill kiddo to school is precarious and at times frustrating, I so appreciate those of you that are working with us on this balance.
Thursday March 14th will be our 2nd Trimester Awards assembly. We will be awarding our TK-1 graders at 8:30 am and then our 2nd and 3rd graders will be awarded at 9:15. We hope you can join us for this great celebration
Have a great week, and remember It takes A Village.......

Woodsy Owls Can Run!!
When Running Club Organizer and Volunteer Extraordinaire Leticia McCann contacted me with the numbers for the miles our kiddos have run, I immediately contacted her to confirm that this was over several cumulative years. But no, I have been assured that these are the number of miles these students have run THIS YEAR. I am beyond proud. This just goes to show what one can accomplish doing a little every day. Please join me in congratulating them. We have many more students that have run multiple miles. These are just our top runners.

Woodsy Owls That Give a Hoot!!
Please join me in extending our heartfelt congratulations to these humans who exemplify the qualities that define a true Woodsy Owl. While numerous Woodsy Owls engaged in acts of helpfulness, demonstrated outstanding behavior, took ownership, and practiced truthfulness over the past few days, these few really went the extra mile. Each of these students has a photo displayed in the front office and received two HOOT LOOTs that can be used to purchase fun rewards.
