PRINCIPAL AND VICE PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Bonny Slope Families,
Happy April! The warming temperatures and the occasional days of brilliant sunshine give a spring to relish in.
Here at Bonny Slope, we are rolling along with our recent changes to our COVID protocols. It has been great to see our students eating in the cafeteria once again. They have adjusted well to sitting at tables, and we’ve been able to maintain our distancing with the support of the students and you. It’s also been nice to welcome our volunteers back into the building once again. The work they do for our students is so appreciated. Slowly and surely, things are returning back to “more normal”.
With that, we are starting to see a small uptick in cases in our county once again. Decisions about Temporary Remote Learning come from the county health department. Please continue to keep your students at home if they have two or more primary COVID symptoms (cough, fever 100.4 or higher or chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell). Because of this, we strongly encourage you to test your students whenever possible, especially if they are showing any symptoms of being sick. Your continued watch for us will help us keep Bonny Slope open.
We thank all of you for everything you do, seen and unseen for our staff, our students, and our wonderful Bonny Slope Community.
Janet Maza and Jim Hiller

BOBCAT TRAIL CLUB IS BACK!
Thank you so much to all the kids and parents who have come out to run with during Bobcat Trail Club. We have had an amazing turnout! The kids are having a blast and are well on their way to hitting those marathon goals. As a reminder, we meet on Monday and Friday before school from 8-8:20am. Kids do not need to sign up ahead of time - simply show up, grab their cards and start running. More details and FAQ's can be found here
We have also had a great volunteer turnout. Thank you to the parents who have been counting laps and finding cards. We couldn't do this without you! We do still have some open slots, particularly on Mondays, and we'd love additional support. Please view the volunteer signup list here and look for times that work with your schedule. And make sure you're following BSCO on Instagram to see your kids in action. Reach out to Whitney Mattocks (Whitneymattocks@gmail.com) with any questions.

PreK Interest Forms are Now Being Accepted!
Bonny Slope is an inquiry-based learning school that welcomes the opportunity to have a PreK in our school! We believe that children learn best through playful learning. It is this type of learning that supports our students with problem-solving and life-related skills, known as Habits of Mind. It is the focus on these skills such as persisting, listening, and understanding with empathy, thinking and communicating with clarity, taking responsible risks, creating, imagining, and innovating that is needed to be successful in kindergarten and ultimately throughout their educational experience.
Priority is given to students who qualify for free preschool based on a family's income level at or below the Federal Poverty Guidelines as well as other qualifying questions on our Interest Form.
Any spots that are not filled by September 9th will be open to families who pay tuition based on our waitlist of submitted Interest Forms. Please fill out an Interest Form to start the process for PreK for 2022-2023.
