Feeder Attendance Challenge
The Catoctin Feeder Principals are committed to student attendance. We believe that every minute missed is a learning opportunity lost. We encourage students to be at school, ready to learn and on time each and every day. We appreciate the efforts of our families in establishing positive attendance habits.
Each month we will engage in a Feeder Attendance Challenge. A random date will be selected for attendance rates to be compared across the feeder. Schools, as well as grade levels, will compete against one another for the highest attendance percentage. The school, and grade levels, with the highest attendance rates will earn a special reward.

Counselor News from Mrs. Bokinsky
Character Counts week was a lot of fun last week! I saw so many students and staff that wore the colors to represent the pillars of character. We ended our week with the “Character Walk.” Students enjoyed activities that highlighted each pillar and were able to see all of the wonderful book characters that students and staff dressed as. I would like to say thank you to all of my incredible volunteers, peer mentors, and staff that helped with this event. It was great!
We have already raised $415 for Pennies for Patients. LES is showing the pillar of caring by donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Our goal is $750 by November 22nd. Thank you to everyone who has donated! Don’t forget to send in coupons or notes to let me know if your child has earned a prize! For more information, you can visit: https://www.penniesforpatients.org/.
Our annual “Giving Tree” will be put up by November 18, 2019. We would like to help spread some cheer for the holidays for families that may need some assistance. If you are interested in helping, stop by and remove a tag from the tree. Once you have purchased the item on the tag, please bring it to school wrapped with the tag attached. If you have questions, please contact me at stacy.bokinsky@fcps.org or 240-236-3755. More information will be coming soon.
