The Weekly Update
Week of 4/2/24
Welcome back, everyone!
I apologize for this being sent out late- Tuesdays are PACKED over here when there is no school on Monday! I hope you had a wonderful Easter break! Ours definitely flew by, but it was very much needed. Please look over the information below carefully, and let me know if you have any questions.
Dates to Remember/Things to Do:
- This Friday, April 5 - LP7 work sample due! (Social Studies for TK-8th)
- Friday, April 12 - Deadline for vendor service orders (you may place orders for May, June, and July if the funds are there!)
- April 16-18 - State testing (3rd-11th grade)
State Testing (3rd-11th grade)
Check your email next week and the week of for details regarding testing! I will be sharing your student(s) SSID number with you at our LP7 meeting this week and next week. Be sure to keep this somewhere safe- your child will need it for logging in to the test!
Ordering Update
Orders are at about a 4 week turnaround time in being processed! Please keep in mind that if any orders need to be rejected for any reason, we will not be able to resubmit a new one. Thank you for understanding!
Field Trips
If you would like to purchase tickets for a HST planned field trip, the deadline is April 12, the same as vendor services. If you have insufficient funds, you can still pay out of pocket through Eventbrite to go on the field trip.

Thinking Maps- the Bridge Map
Let’s bridge the gap with the Bridge Map! Feel free to watch this Bridge Map video (PW: Heartland2223!)
PRO TIPS
If you can verbally make a sentence consistently with each pair of words/phrases (top and bottom of the bridge) with the relating factor in the middle, then you are using the Bridge Map correctly.
Bridge Maps are good for analogies.
