Girls on the Run!
Register Your Girl for Girls on the Run @ Findley!
Girls on the Run is a life-changing, after-school program for girls in 3rd-5th grade. Our mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The 20-lesson Girls on the Run curriculum combines training for a 5k (3.1 miles) running event with lessons that inspire girls to become independent thinkers, to enhance their problem-solving skills, and to make healthy decisions.
· Practice Days: Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00pm-5:30pm. This is an after-school program.
· Registration Date: Registration opens on Saturday, January 13, 8:00am. To ensure your spot, mark your calendar—last year the team filled in a few hours. Once a team fills, girls may register for the team’s waiting list. When spots open, they are offered to girls in the order in which they registered for the waiting list. To register, search for Findley at http://www.girlsontherunpdx.org/Our-Locations.
· Key Dates:
o Registration: January 13
o Season begins: March 6 (no practice Spring Break)
o Girls on the Run 5k: Saturday, May 19
o Last practice: May 22
o No practice the week of Spring Break.
· Cost for 10-week program: $195.00—scholarships available
· Questions? Contact Marianne Walters: marianne.walters@girlsontherun.org
PARENTS: We still need assistant coaches for the Findley site. Please contact Angie Mitlehner at indigosky.97@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering. See http://www.girlsontherunpdx.org/Coach for more information on coaching.
