Badminton
A huge thanks has to be given to Mr. Finkbiner for his dedication and time coaching badminton, helping players improve their skills and organizing teams. The success our athletes are having is awesome, and the rewards they experience at many levels is marvelous. Our players came away with most of the first and second place finishes at the Castor Badminton Tournament held on April 12th at Theresetta School and Gus Wetter School. The players and coach traveled to the ECACS tournament in Wainwright April 19th and dominated, collecting the majority of medals available. Many of our athletes came away with medals from the Wildrose Invitational Badminton tournament held in Red Deer on April 21st and 22nd. Congratulations to our TCS badminton team on their highly successful season so far!
- The CARA Badminton tournament will be held in Stettler on May 3rd. Students who are going will have received information from Mr. Finkbiner. Those who qualify will be moving on to the CWAJHAA badminton tournament in Red Deer May 9th (singles and mixed doubles) and May 11th (boys doubles and girls doubles).
Track and Field
With badminton winding down, track and field practices will start winding up. Miss Hepp will run T & F practices for the junior high students Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 5:30 p.m. The first practice will be on a Wednesday - May 10th - however all practices following that will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- There will be an ECACS track meet in Wainwright May, 31, 2023 for Junior High students. The CARA track meet will be June 13th in Stettler.
- As soon as we receive information regarding the Elementary track meet we will send it out in an email and paper note.
Lent Fundraisers
A total profit of $346.55 was raised from our two Lent Fundraisers this year: Coin Wars and Paper Dolls. This money has been sent to Chalice Canada in support of their School Connections Campaign program to support an African school in need. Our donation went to help build latrines for Kandubai Primary School in Meru, Kenya which is the sister school that we were paired with. Thanks to all who helped with this much needed project!
As the ball season is approaching and with the nice weather expected, Kids Club will not run in May and June. We thank all those who helped with Kids Club this year, especially our Junior High student for planning and carrying out this popular program. We hope the students who attended had fun and look forward to participating again next school year.
