Snohomish Speech and Debate competed at the Auburn-Riverside invitational last weekend. Ayaan Shariff won 5th Place in Extemporaneous Speaking, and Jocelyn Johns and Mugdha Bhatnagar won 3rd place in Duo Interpretation. Congratulations!

Bank of America Student Leaders Program
Juniors and seniors, if you have a passion to serve, inspire and change the world, by improving your community first, please consider applying for the Bank of America Student Leaders Program. Student leaders will get firsthand experience in serving their communities, get work experience, gain leadership development and get financial education.To become a Student Leader, you must:
· be able to participate in an 8-week paid summer internship at a local nonprofit/charitable organization and work 35 hours a week.
· Be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
· Be able to participate in a week-long Student Leadership Summit in Washington, DC (all expenses paid, this is part of your 8-week experience)
· Be a student in good standing at your school.

ASVAB Testing
If you are interested in career exploration, and you are a sophomore, junior or senior, the ASVAB test is a great tool to use. The ASVAB test is a free 1.5 hour aptitude test and interest assessment. The results are used to guide career exploration using career planning tools. This test is given in the SHS library computer lab. SHS will host the ASVAB on January 12 at 9 a.m. To signup, please contact Mrs. Stapleton in the College & Career Center. To find out more information visit www.asvabprogram.com.
The Coolidge Scholarship for Juniors
Juniors, the Coolidge Scholarship is now open! The 2022 Coolidge Scholarship application is live and accepting applications. The application deadline is February 23, 2022. The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that may be used by recipients for undergraduate study at any accredited college or university in the U.S. Any current high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2024 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply (current high school seniors are not eligible to apply). 2023-2024 FASFA and WASFA Now Open!
Seniors, the best place to start when you are looking for money for college, tech school or trade school, is by filling out the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA, for undocumented and select non-citizens). The information from these applications will be shared with the colleges you apply to and will determine your eligibility for financial aid.
