PLE Principals Update
April 5, 2021
Dear PHamily,
I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine earlier this week. We are so excited to welcome our last group of students for in-person services. Fourth and fifth graders will join us for in-person services on April 5th. We expect to have some car traffic as we have experienced in the past. Unfortunately, our parking lot is too small. We appreciate your patience as we dismiss more students in the car line.
Warmly,
Melisa Macias, PLE Principal
Spring Break – April 12 – 16
All schools are closed for the break.
All Students – Remote Learning – April 19 – 23
As identified in the MOU from January, the week after spring break will be remote for all students, PreK-12 and Transitions.
Are students and staff expected to quarantine after traveling?
Yes. Travel increases your chance of spreading and getting COVID-19. The CDC recommends you delay travel and stay home to protect yourself and others from COVID-19, even if you are vaccinated or have previously had COVID-19.
According to the CDC, if you must travel, take steps to protect yourself and others:
- If you are eligible, get fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
- Before you travel, get tested with a viral test 1-3 days before your trip.
- Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when in public.
- Avoid crowds and stay at least 6 feet/2 meters (about 2 arm lengths) from anyone who did not travel with you.
- Get tested 3-5 days after your trip and stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel, even if your test is negative. If you don’t get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.
- Follow all state and local recommendations or requirements after travel.
Please contact your child's teacher if your student is planning to quarantine, so we can plan accordingly.
Health Attestation
Each student must complete the health attestation "Health Check" (bsd405.org) prior to entering the building DAILY. It is recommended you download the app on your smart phone if you have not done so already. It makes it quick and easy to do before leaving your home.
- There are two ways to access Health Check daily: scan the QR code mailed to each student w/ your smart phone OR go to: https://healthcheck.bsd405.org
- Add an icon to your phone or computer home screen for easy access: https://bsd405.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/BSD-Health-Check-Mobile-Home-Screen-Tip-Sheet-English.pdf
