BSS Weekly Update
January 20th thru January 24th
From the Desk of the Principal
Another big thank you to Jen Caruso for organizing the screening of "Screenagers" this week. It was a great way to start a conversation on how to best teach our children about proper online/screen time behaviors.
I hope everyone has a restful long weekend and we all take some time to reflect on the ideals of faith, non-violence, and love that were so central to the message of Dr. King.
Blessings,
Dustin

24 Hour Policy for Illness
All of this is important, but if a child is being sent to school without being symptom free for 24 hours, then all of the cleaning in the world will not stop the spread of illness. Please make sure that your child is not coming to school unless their fever or symptoms of illness have subsided for at least 24 hours. Thank you!
NED Mindset Mission Assembly

Encourage others

There will be a flyer going home on Tuesday and there will be an opportunity for students to purchase NED themed yo yo's in the gym foyer before and after assembly from the 23rd thru the 28th.

Also, if you have specific seating requests please feel free to email those to Jen as well. Additional Bingo cards for all rounds will be available for sale that night.
BSS Green Team Registration Open. The BSS Green Team is a fun way to get your child involved in understanding the importance of protecting our environment and learning ways they can make a difference! As always we will continue the mission of teaching the BSS community how to protect our planet. This year’s theme is SLASH TRASH by Reducing, Reusing and Recycling. Last year’s team focused heavily on cutting the use of straws and it caused a lasting change for some families! This year our main focus will be on cutting the use of plastic bags and learning how to recycle. Our hope is to create positive lasting changes that will stick with our children for a life time. We hope you join us in being the change our Mother Earth so desperately needs! The Green Team will meet after school a few times in a parent-run group, and Green Week will take place in April. To register your child, or to sign up as a volunteer, use this link. If you have questions, please feel free to email this event’s coordinator, Stacy Coyne at staceyacoyne@gmail.com.
February Dine Around: The February Dine Around will take place at Conrad’s in Walpole on 02/03/2020. 15% of sales will be donated back to Blessed Sacrament School to support our community. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details!
Park Street Books is coming back to BSS! The PSB book fair will be on 02/05/2020 in the gym. FACTS authorization forms were sent home with students this week and should be returned to classroom teachers on or before February 5th. Jim from Park Street Books & Toys brings a fantastic selection of books for students of all ages.
