Message from the Principal
Dear Central Road Families,
Happy October! Thank you to all of the parents that attended our PTA meeting last Tuesday.
Every month our PBIS Green team, that consists of staff members and a parent representative, meets to analyze our discipline data. The PBIS Green Team works together to support our students with learning opportunities in social and emotional development. During the month of September, Central Road had 28 discipline major discipline referrals. Of these referrals, 19 students were responsible for them. To support the students who receive more than two majors in a month, we are going to provide the students with restorative justice opportunities. Restorative Justice and restitution allows students to rebuild relationships and work together to come up with resolutions. An example is writing a letter of apology to a student who was involved in an incident. This will be lead by Ms. Jarosz, our social worker. We want to support our students to make good choices. The great news is, as a school, we were 96% major free. Great job Central Road Wolves! Our goal is to have 95% or more of our students without a major. We reached our goal and the students will be celebrating with PBIS Bingo on Friday, October 11th.
Please support our PTA! Our PTA fundraiser has raised $3,425. Our goal is $15,000! We will reach our goal, if each student sells three drawing tickets. Envelopes can be turned in at the office. All of the proceeds go directly to our students. The money pays for assemblies, PTA events and clubs. Thank you to everyone who has already turned in your envelopes.
This week a group of students and parents volunteered at Feed My Starving Children. Thank you for making a huge impact on those in need!
Let’s make it a great week!
Warmest regards,
Patti Van Winkle
