Superintendent's Update
October 22, 2021
To the CCPS Community:
One of the things that Cecil County does best is to rally around others in our community to offer support during a time of need. This month, students and employees have rallied around the important cause of breast cancer awareness, a cause that is close to many in our community and in our own families. Whether it was through wearing pink or raising funds, many participated in Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities. Through donations from fundraising at schools and Central Office, CCPS was able to donate $1258 to the Union Hospital Breast Health Center. I am proud of the CCPS family for rallying around this important cause.
Earlier this month, the Board of Education recognized four groups of employees and the important work that they do. Our Food & Nutrition staff, school principals, facilities staff, and our local transportation personnel are all incredibly deserving of this recognition. On behalf of the Board of Education and Leadership Team, these employees have my utmost gratitude for the work that they do, especially through the challenges of the past year and a half. You can see the details of each of these group recognitions below.
Thank you for your continued support of Cecil County Public Schools.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.
