Visions - Leadership Book Club
"Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other"JFK
Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action by Simon Sinek
Learn to inspire and engage others. This Book Chat will discuss Start with Why by Simon Sinek as the primary resource. The book inspires leaders and organizations and teaches how to be inspiring. In the book the author states, “Great leaders are able to inspire people to act. Those who truly lead are able to create a following of people who act not because they were swayed, but because they were inspired.”
Visions - Leadership Book Club offers a very unique opportunity for educators to read and discuss literature. Through virtual meetings, we are able to talk and reflect in an informal setting and create shared experiences while reading.
We are excited to share that we will be able to enjoy this book together and get professional development credit. This book study will qualify for 6 hours of LISD Trade Day credits. If you don't need the credit, we would still love for you to join us.
We will meet on Twitter on Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30pm. We will TweetChat and discuss 4-5 questions regarding the pre-selected chapters each week using #lisdlearns. At the end of each chat a Storify will be created and you will use a Google Form to log your attendance and learning for the evening. This will help meet the requirements for the training credit.
Please share this information with your colleagues. "The more people you inspire, the more they inspire you." -Simon Sinek http://www.startwithwhy.com @simonsinek
