Principal Update
We’re headed into the last quarter of the school year. This month we work through anticipated staffing assignments for next year, which will be shared in a coming newsletter. We take family input and student support teacher input for class placement. We plan for state testing which will start in May; the planning includes building a schedule, annual training of teachers to proctor the assessment, prepping materials, and getting student information into the assessment system. We also slowly start planning to close out the school year and prepare for next year. We are planning for next year’s theme with student ideas and voting: ASB came up with ideas that staff will look at then classes will vote on. We have three extracurriculars running; Fit for Bloomsday, Math Club, and our new Yoga Club (starting next week).
We have a few special events this month - more info to come in this newsletter and/or future ones:
- Launching the Prairie Dog Dash.
- An ASB spirit day at the end of the month: Barbie Day or Wear Pink Day.
- Fourth grade classes get to go to Expo ’74 on a field trip, and we’re planning a Chase Tour for the end of May for our 5th graders.
- April 17th is our McTeacher Night from 4:30 – 6:30 at the Regal and Palouse McDonald’s (all donations go towards our PBIS program – student incentives, awards, celebrations, poster and materials to teach students, etc.).
- April 17th is also our feeder pattern fundraiser for feeder pattern t-shirts.
It's a great month to keep working hard before May comes and it starts to go so fast!
