Jaguar Tracks
January 24th
Dear JE families,
Your students have produced INCREDIBLE writing. Our curriculum calls for writing to be published and I have to say, we have many authors in our school! Our teachers have hung your student's work proudly in the hallways and we are looking forward to a JE publishing party in the spring!
We are excited for our week ahead! Today, we celebrate a significant decrease in COVID cases at JE and are looking ahead to a week of strong attendance. Especially now, every minute counts-- we appreciate your partnership in reinforcing this at home. Our curriculum spirals forward and while there are natural times for review, when students miss a lesson, it has an impact on the continuity of their learning experience. Plus, as critical members of our community, students absences are felt by all (staff and peers!) As we say to our students, "When you are healthy and well, plan to be here by our morning bell!"
We enjoyed lots of great enrichment last week! We had the Discovery Museum come to our second grade classes and Nancy Hair and the Talking Cello come to Kindergarten! See some pictures below!
Thank you all & GO JAGUARS,
Caitlin
Attendance Matters!
We certainly understand that there is a potential increase in absences due to illness this year because of Covid. We appreciate your vigilance and support in helping to keep everyone safe. We also have seen an increase in unexcused absences, especially around extended vacations. We are required to share your children's' absences and tardy data. You will be receiving a letter in the coming weeks if your child has more than 5 unexcused absences and we are requesting communication on how we can work together to make sure your child is attending school regularly. It's important that we set your children up for success, especially as the past few years have been unpredictable, and attending school regularly is essential to student success. Please reach out with any questions.

We are happy to announce that water dispenser units are scheduled to be installed over February break! The units will be dispersed throughout the school for easy bottle refilling for our students and staff. Huge thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this happen, particularly our PTO treasurer Casey Prescott and Principal Shelburne!
Have a great week!
