Minimum Wage
Minimum Wage in the United States
Minimum Wage Description
Minimum wage in the United States is $7.25. That's usually the amount of money per hour every high school student or not well educated adults get.
3 Facts
Twenty-nine states, plus the District of Columbia and nearly two dozen cities and counties, have set their own higher minimums. The restaurant/food service industry is the single biggest employer of near-minimum-wage workers. A Majority of those who earn the minimum wage work in food preparation or sales.
Impact
Minimum wage is $7.25, this impacts our state because people can't live their whole life winning $7.25 a hour.
Scarcity
I think our state is in scarcity because our minimum wage is so low. We don't have enough money to raise the minimum wage.
