From the Principal's Desk
Hello Rose Pioneer Families,
This Thursday, April 18th, Rose Pioneer will host our annual Family Engagement Night from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. This free event is always a hit and this year we are focusing on math games and science engineering. Please join us for a fun night of games and learning for the entire family!
Friday, April 26th is the Rose Pioneer Carnival from 6 - 8 pm. Information was sent home and emailed but the details can also be found below. Please remember that purchasing tickets in advance will save time at the door on the evening of the carnival.
M-Step testing started this week across the state of Michigan for elementary students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. Our students have set proficiency goals and are well-prepared to give their best effort! Please see the details we send home prior to each grade test. Fifth grade started this past week, fourth grade will start testing this week, and third grade testing will commence the week of April 22nd.
The Holly Area Schools Professional Trades and Apprenticeship Night is this Wednesday, April 17th at Holly High School from 6 - 8 pm. Holly has amazing professional trades and apprenticeship programs and this evening provides an opportunity for the Holly Area Schools community to learn all about them. Check out the details below!
Please remember the deadline for Summer Learning Registration is coming up on April 26th. This will be a highly engaging and fun experience like no other for all students as they build, create and invent their way through the summer. Student projects are based on grade level content standards and will incorporate problem solving, strategy planning, reading, writing, and math, along with developing students' abilities to collaborate and communicate with teammates. Typically, there is a significant cost for families with this program. We are very excited to be able to offer this to Holly Schools students at no cost during the summer of 2024.
Is there a teacher, staff member or administrator you would like to recognize or praise? Please use the link below to shout out the good things you see (or hear from your student) happening at Holly Schools! We are all one team, and we are all working towards the goal of growing successful students. We love to recognize our staff for all the good they are doing to empower our students to reach for their best! https://forms.gle/RUqUcj91oHm9fkWZ8

The Leader in Me & Core Competencies: Habit 7 Sharpen the Saw
Sharpening the Saw is about having a balanced program for your life. This creates and maintains well-being in four areas: physical, social/emotional, spiritual and mental. Without taking care of all four, you are out of balance and are unable to be your best self.
Sharpening the Saw includes that you will take care of yourself inside and out. You will eat right, exercise and get plenty of sleep. It also means that you will find a way to help others and spend time with your family and friends. Sharpening the Saw includes continuing to learn and try new things.
Ways to practice Habit 7 Sharpen the Saw at home: Play a game, put together a puzzle or have a time that everyone at home is reading. You could make a commitment to eating healthy, exercising together as a family or visiting a new and different place. Another great Sharpening the Saw activity is community service or doing something to enhance your neighborhood. If you need more ideas, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
