Meadow Brook Magic
March 25th—April 14th
5th Grade Wax Museum
Fifth grade opened their doors for the annual "Wax Museum" on Friday, March 15th. Students have been working hard for over a month to research and write an essay, as well as write and memorize a short speech to highlight individuals who have impacted United States history. There was a mix of nerves and excitement as they arrived at school. Costumes were donned and speeches were delivered with care and precision to our many guests. It was fun to celebrate so many people who have impacted our country's history, as well as celebrating the students' hard work!
Mustang Monday Message
Dear Meadow Brook Mustang Family,
As we dive into this week, I want to take a moment to express our heartfelt appreciation for our incredible teaching staff. This week marks Teacher Appreciation Week, and it's the perfect opportunity to recognize the invaluable impact our teachers have on the lives of our students. Their dedication, passion, and hard work shape the minds and futures of our children every day. Please join me in showing gratitude to our teachers for their unwavering commitment to education.
Speaking of commitment to learning, I want to encourage our students to continue their efforts in mastering their math facts. Proficiency in math facts lays a solid foundation for future mathematical understanding and success. Consistent practice and dedication in this area will greatly benefit our students as they progress in their academic journey. Let's keep up the great work and strive for excellence in mathematics!
As we look forward to the upcoming Spring Break, I hope everyone has plans for a rejuvenating and enjoyable time with family and friends. It's essential to take moments to rest and recharge, returning refreshed and ready to tackle the remainder of the school year.
Additionally, I want to extend an invitation to parents who are interested in joining our School Community Council. The School Community Council plays a vital role in decision-making processes that directly impact our school community. From allocating Trust Land funds to creating safe walking routes and providing counsel on school-wide issues, your involvement is crucial in shaping the direction of our school. If you're interested in participating or learning more about the School Community Council, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Together, we can create a nurturing and thriving learning environment for all our students.
Warm regards,
Principal Balli

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week Information
March Madness in P.E.
In March, it's only fitting to embrace the spirit of March Madness with some basketball action! We kicked off our session by focusing on skill development and honing our techniques. The kids displayed impressive prowess during our team drills and races. Next up was a delightful game of Dotball, which even our youngest Mustangs thoroughly enjoyed participating in. Finally, the majority of our students had the opportunity to engage in a full-fledged game. The enthusiasm was palpable, with many students declaring it as their favorite PE session yet! 🏀
Friendship in Preschool
Preschoolers have really enjoyed their friends this month. They have been working hard on learning to share and take turns. We discovered that when we work together we can build “big projects” together. We built a “zoo” with the blocks and put all the animals inside. It did come crashing down right after this photo though!
B and D Reversals
B and d are commonly confused by learners due to their similar shapes. Developing automaticity helps children quickly recognize the correct orientation of each letter. When students struggle to distinguish between 'b' and 'd', it slows down their reading process as they pause to decipher each letter. Automatic recognition allows them to read more fluently, leading to better reading.
A strategy to help with this skill is shown in the picture above!
Learning in Speech
Oh The Places You Go In Utah
To honor Dr. Seuss day in 4th grade, we read the book, “Oh the Places You Go”. We strengthened our writing skills by writing about “Oh The Places We’ll Go In Utah.” We loved showing all of our finished work at SEP conferences!

School Safety
- We kindly request your valuable assistance in teaching our students to use crosswalks. We have experienced a few close calls with young students dashing across the street without checking for cars. While we acknowledge that using crosswalks may not always be the most convenient option, your collaboration in modeling the use of crosswalks is essential to ensuring the safety of our students. Thank you for your help!
- In order to be on the playground before, during, or after school, you will need to check in at the office. This helps us keep our students safe.
Algunos recordatorios:
- Para estar en el patio de recreo antes, durante o después de la escuela, deberá registrarse en la oficina. Esto nos ayuda a mantener seguros a nuestros estudiantes.
