From the Principal
It's hard to believe that it's already March. Time has sure flown by this year. There are a lot of activities planned over the next few months. Click on the calendar below to keep up with all the activities. I will keep the calendar updated if any changes occur.
The APEX Fundraiser is coming up this month. The is a great fundraiser for our school. The kids really enjoy the daily character lessons and then the fun run itself. Our goal is to raise $10, 000 for our school. We are able to use the money for teacher supplies, student awards, technology, computer programs and many other needs. There is a selection below giving more information about our Apex fundraiser and all the dates and times.
As a safety concern, please make you are dropping off your students at the front of the school instead of the side entrance. The side entrance is closed from 7:00 until 8:00 for buses and then again from 2:00 until 3:00. Anytime you need to come into the school during these times, please follow the drop off route and then park in the front of the school. Our goal is to keep all students safe during these very heavy traffic times.
Our 23/24 school improvement goals are listed at the top of this newsletter. As we near Georgia Milestones (April 22 - 25), we are working hard to meet those goals. You can help us reach our goals by ensuring students are at school daily and on time. If your child is sick and stays home, please remember to submit a signed parent note or doctor excuse for our records.

As part of our PBIS (Positive Behavior Incentive Supports) program at BES, our teachers and staff are "Writing Up" our students who are working hard and making good choices everyday. We are proud of these students for exhibiting our BES PBIS Expectations of We are Respectful, We are Responsible, We are Safe, because WE ARE BATTLEFIELD!
New Outdoor Area
If you've been to the back of the school, you've seen our new addition. Through funds donated by North Georgia Electric, we were able to create an area for students and teachers. This area can be used for outdoor learning, special lunches, and celebrating! We are so excited about this new area and all the opportunities for our students and teachers. Thank you North Georgia Electric for your donation.
Catoosa County Updates
Beginning Feb. 1 through March 5, parents of 4-year-old children who live in Catoosa County may enter their child’s name in the drawing for the lottery-funded Georgia Pre-K classes.
A public drawing to award available Pre-K assignments will be held virtually on the Catoosa County Public Schools website (https://www.catoosa.k12.ga.us) on Friday, April 12, at 9 a.m. Parents or legal guardians who would like to have their child’s name entered in the drawing must complete and return a Request to Participate in Pre-K Drawing Form between Feb. 1 and March 5. Any request received after March 5 will be placed on the school system’s waiting list after the lottery drawing is completed.
The Request to Participate in Pre-K Drawing Form is available at all primary and elementary schools in Catoosa County (8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) and may also be completed at the Student Enrollment Center, 108 High St., Ringgold, Georgia, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. (closed for lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Pre-K enrollment is open and nondiscriminatory, based on a public lottery among those eligible to participate. Children will not be denied participation on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, or disability.
Eligibility: Currently, a child must be born between Sept. 2, 2019, and Sept. 1, 2020, to be eligible for Georgia Pre-K services, and the child must be a Catoosa County resident at the time of the drawing. Georgia residents outside of Catoosa County will be placed on a waiting list until all children within the district are enrolled.
