Read Across America Week
Read Across America
In addition to hosting fun activities during Read Across America Week, we are also hosting Family Literacy Night on March 13th. All families are welcome to join us on Wednesday, March 13th, from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for a night filled with fun reading activities. The event is free and every scholar who attends will receive a homework pass and a free book (while supplies last). We will also be doing a drawing for fun reading games. We hope you can join us for this amazing event!
Lastly, in true TCE fashion, we are hosting a Read Across America Spirit Week. The spirit days are as follows:
Monday is“Wild about Reading” day. Scholars are encouraged to wear animal prints or dress like their favorite animal to school.
Tuesday is “Reading Jogs the Mind” day. Scholars should wear their workout clothes to school and prepare to work out their brains.
Wednesday is “Diverse Readers” day. Scholars are encouraged to show their diversity and wear something that represents their culture.
Thursday is “Reading is Magical” day. Scholars can dress like magicians for the day.
Friday is “Criss Cross for Reading” day. Scholars are encouraged to dress like their teachers and teachers will dress like their scholars!
Let's make this Read Across America Week the BEST week, yet!
Spring Picture Day is March 12th!

Meet Our Assistant Principal
Hello Colts,
I am honored to be at such an amazing school like Triple Crown Elementary School. I wanted to share a little about myself. My name is Mr. Fanning. I was an elementary school teacher for 13 years. I taught 1st through 5th grades. Can you guess which grade was my favorite? I live on a small two-acre ranch/farm. I have several animals there to keep me busy and company. I have five alpacas, five turkeys, two goats, eight dogs, six cats, and way too many chickens. I love them all. Pictured are two of my dogs, Max and Poppi. Pictured with me is one of my Alpacas, Dolly. Please do not laugh at Dolly’s mustache. If you would like to know more about me and my animals, I would love to speak with you about them. Just come see me at recess and lunch and I can tell you all their names.
Best Regards,
Jeff Fanning
