Solar eclipse, and lunar eclipse

The Difference
A lunar eclipse occurs when Earth passes between the Moon and the Sun, and the Earths shadow obscures the Moon or a portion of it.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, blocking all or a portion of the Sun.

How a eclipse occurs
Solar eclipses occur at Ne Moon, when the Moon is between Earth and the Sun. Lunar eclipses occur at Full Moon, when Earth is between the Sun and the Moon. Eclipses do not take place every month because the orbits of the Moon and Earth are tilted an angle.
