Happy fall! We just finished celebrating International Dot Day! Next up we are beginning our internet/cyber safety units k-5. A bookfair is coming! October 15th-28th. There will be sample books for the kiddos to make their wish lists from and then the ordering will take place through a live google sheet (links will be on website and in school newsletters). Students order online, then pay here by cash or check (credit cards over the phone or during parent/teacher conferences). Scholastic will ship orders to the library and I will distribute!

Health Screening
As per school district policy all new to district students and all K,1st, 3rd, and 5th grader students will have a health assessment during the school year. Additionally, a screening may take place if requested by a teacher, parent/guardian, or in-school intervention team referral. The health assessment includes height, weight, blood pressure, vision, color perception, hearing, and dental. Fifth grade girls are also screened for scoliosis. You will be contacted if any of these basic screening tests indicate that further testing or follow-up is necessary.
If any parent/guardian would like to opt their child out, please email to rachel.lund@matsuk12.us stating your child’s name and that you would like to opt out of the health screening. Please be aware this request to opt out of health screenings must be submitted each school year.
