Acute Hepatitis B doesn’t need medical treatment but if severe the affected might need treatment to restore fluids and electrolytes.
How do you prevent getting HBV?
Be cautious about getting tattoos and body piercing. Know about the HBV status of any partner. Use condoms during sexual intercourse. Getting the vaccine can also prevent of having HBV.
What do you do if you get HBV?
Make sure you tell your partner if you have the HBV virus. Be careful when getting tattoos and any body piercings. Make sure you condoms even though these are not 100% proof of the virus.

HBV can be transmitted from infected mothers to infants at the time of birth or from family member to infant in early childhood.
