Mrs. Greene's 3rd Grade
September 20, 2019
A Spirit-Filled Week
What a way to end a week of school...FUN RUN 2019!! It was so much fun! It was nice to see so many of you celebrating with us. Believe it or not, as hectic as the morning was, we accomplished a lot this afternoon. We even took a short reading comprehension quiz. I will be sending the results of a few assessments home once we put our data into Google Sheets.
Third graders will hear the BODY SAFETY presentation on Monday, September 23. Students usually go home with lots of questions after the presentation, so - get ready!
Don't forget that our field trip to The Benjamin Harrison Home next Thursday, September 26. Your child will need a disposable lunch with a drink. We will leave school at 9:00 and return at 2:00.
That's all I have for now...
Enjoy your long weekend!

Room 9 Celebrations
A few student highlights from our week:
- Katelyn is highly motivated to work her way through typing.com. Each time I print out a report to see student progress, I am amazed at how much work she is putting into becoming a better typist! WOW!
- Gabby's big brother, Billy, was in my 3rd grade class several years ago. On the way to the bus at the end of the day we have daily conversations about Billy. It's fun to hear about former students and to be their sibling's teacher.
- Ady proudly announced that she got two new guinea pigs last week. It was so much fun for us to hear all about her pets. She even emailed me a picture for us to put their sweet faces with names.
- Maren is a quiet leader in the classroom, always listening and giving her best. The minute she walks out on the playground - the girl giggles, runs, plays, and really SHARPENS THE SAW! It's fun to watch her enjoying her free time!
Around Room 9 - Brain Break - Beach Ball
Next Week...
- Be sure to ask your child to log onto his/her Google Keep account. Each time I hold a reading conference with him/her, I will share my conference notes. This type of feedback is very beneficial for students & parents. We discuss strengths and areas where work is needed, but it is also helpful to have written notes to refer back to when working on our reading goals.
