Interested in Nursing Career
On May 2nd, 2024 during third period Grand Canyon University (GCU) will be at Valhalla to present information on their accelerated Nursing program that allows students to stay here and take their pre-req courses all online!
The visit will be held in the counseling office and students of all grade levels are welcome to attend. Just visit our College and Career Reps Visit page and fill out a quick Google Form to sign up.
Students will be sent a pass to attend and are responsible for communicating with teachers regarding any missed class time/work.

Senior Prom - Saturday, May 18th at 7:00pm
This year's Prom will be held at The Westin, San Diego Gaslamp Quarter! Tickets can be purchased at the Finance Office starting Monday, April 29th at the Finance Office. Senior tickets will be purchasable for $65, and Guest tickets for $75. This is the lowest price tickets will be sold for. Remember, prices will continue to go up weekly. Those with Senior Privilege cards are an exception, you can purchase your ticket for $0.24 at the Finance Office. Fines and LOP should be cleared before attempt to purchase your Prom ticket.Click here for the reveal video.
2024-2025 Annual Family Information Form
Returning to Valhalla Next Year? The Grossmont District is required to collect specific information from families regarding income. The collection of this data is required during a specific window of time. The survey is only four sections long. The data provided leads to special funding that contributes to the resources for our students. Thank you for your time in this matter.

Summer School registration is open and the priority deadline is May 14th. Please encourage any students who need it to sign up as soon as possible using the links below.

AP Testing: May 6th - 16th
Valhalla is proctoring AP Exams on campus during the first two weeks of May. Room 606, Room 301, the back office of the library as well as a few classrooms will be used for exams. Exam room assignments will be posted and shared with AP Teachers and students before the end of April.
Senior Awards - May 21st
Award season is just around the corner, Seniors! Please save the date for Senior Award Night Tuesday, May 21st, 2024 at 6:00 pm in the Thunderdome. Keep an eye on your emails as this event is invite only.
College Signing Day
Save the date for College Signing Day on May 22nd @11:30am! This is a day we celebrate all of our seniors continuing their education or training at four-year colleges/universities, community colleges. trade schools, and the military. Families are invited and encouraged to attend. If seniors would like to participate and be recognized in this event, they need to fill out our College Signing Day Participation Google Form by May 13th! More details to come.
Community College Registration Help
Fall and summer registration at Grossmont and Cuyamaca College will begin on April 29th. Counselors will be hosting registration workshops on April 30th and May 3rd during lunch and 6th period in the counseling office to help students sign up for classes. These opportunities are open to seniors registering for the fall, along with any student taking a summer concurrent enrollment class. We will walk through the technical steps of choosing sections and completing registration through Self Service. Even if you have a later registration time, join us on one of these days to learn what to do.
If you are a current 9th-11th grader planning on taking a summer class, make sure you complete your online application and your authorization form as soon as possible. See our concurrent enrollment page for more info.
Financial Aid
Cal State San Marcos Extension
Cal State San Marcos just announced that they have extended their deadline one more time to May 15th. If you are a senior still considering your college options, log-in to Cal State Apply to apply to San Marcos. If you have applied to any other CSU, you can use your pre-existing application. CSUSM has higher acceptance rates than SDSU and is still commutable if you want to stay local.
Grossmont Family Information Night
Grossmont College is hosting a Family Information Night on Tuesday, April 30th, from 4-7pm. Dinner will be provided and they are offering campus tours, workshops, and the opportunity to learn about their academic and student support programs. You can also learn about financial aid and transfer opportunities. If you are planning on attending Grossmont next year or still weighing your options, we highly encourage you to attend!
