Garden Work Day: Saturday, March 23rd
Come out to the garden Saturday, March 23rd anytime between 9:00 am and noon. This is an excellent opportunity for families to work together, make new friends, and see the fruits of your labor! The saying, “Many hands make light work,” definitely applies to the gardens at EARThS.
Feel free to bring gardening gloves and/or other gardening tools to help with gardening tasks but we have equipment, too.

Parents, bring a beach chair!
Open PTA Board Positions
We have so many amazing parents with so many talents here at EARThS and our PTA is looking for some new faces with some fresh ideas to join our board. We currently have the following positions open:
EXECUTIVE BOARD POSITIONS
- VP Fundraising / You would be in charge of coming up with fun, new (or old) fundraising ideas and how we can best implement them in our school. You would present them at the executive board meetings (held the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm in the staff lounge). You would be in charge of then implementing whatever fundraisers are approved with the help of a committee if you so choose. In addition you would be the point person / Helper for the people who Chair the Fun run, Halloween Festival and Auction as these are our 3 biggest fundraising events. This is an Executive Board Position so you are required to attend the meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM unless otherwise noted.
- Auditor / Ideally this person is a CPA however it is not necessary. If this person is NOT a CPA then a committee will have to be formed to review the final audit before it is submitted to council. The Auditor is responsible to do a Mid Year and End of year audit reviewing all expenditures and deposits made. While it is not required that this person attend the monthly meetings (Held the First Tuesday of each month at 6pm in the Staff Lounge at School) it is highly recommended as it is an Executive position and gives you say in all decisions being made by the PTA for the school.
SUPPORTING ROLLS
- Fun Run Chair / This person is responsible for coming up with a Theme, Logo for Shirts, helping to secure Business donations, finding someone to lead warm ups and facilitating all aspects of the fun run with a committee. This person will report to the VP of Fundraising as this is one of our biggest fundraisers. You will attend the December executive board meeting (held the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm in the staff lounge, unless otherwise noted) where you will present 3 options for themes (a theme should be chosen that night). Once the theme is chosen you have until the January meeting where you will need to present 2 shirt designs for approval. Once that is approved you will make arrangements with Eastwind to have the shirts produced (note, you may want to check in with Eastwind even before approvals and give them the Fun Run date to see what their lead time is).
- Staff Appreciation Chair / Typically the first week in May. You will be responsible to attend the January executive board meeting (held the Second Tuesday at 6:30pm in the staff lounge) and present 2-3 options for overall themes and then a breakdown of what each day's theme would be and what it includes. This event takes a lot of hands so we encourage you to form a committee for help. You will also need to make arrangements to decorate the staff lounge. About 1 month prior to the event you will need to make a signup genius of all items you would like to have donated from our families and this can be sent out by our Room Parent Coordinator. You and your committee will be responsible to make sure the Lounge is set up each day with the appropriate items and tend to any vendors you may have. Also to take down all decor that Friday.
If you think you would be the right fit for any of these positions or have any questions please email Irene at earthsptapres@gmail.com.
Irene would also be happy to have a phone call, meet for coffee or just meet on campus to answer any questions or go over any of the positions more in detail.
