Academic Spotlight: Connor Pearson
Class: Senior
Academic and Extracurricular Accomplishments:
Connor Pearson holds a 34 on his ACT, with a 35 Super Score, and a 1460 on his SAT. He is a National Merit Semifinalist, as well as an AP Scholar with Honors. He’s ranked 16 out of 722 in his Senior Class. Connor has taken AP and Pre-AP classes whenever available to him, including AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, and others. Over the summer, he attended Arkansas Governor’s School for mathematics so as to explore his passion for mathematics. Connor has also competed in a variety of Math Competitions, including the ACTM, AMC, and even a 14 hour long Math Modeling Competition called the M3 Challenge.
Community: Connor is very active in his community by holding leadership positions in a variety of clubs. Connor is the President of National Honor Society, the Treasurer of both Mu Alpha Theta and Young Democrats, and the Vice President of Femi-STEM Club. Teaming up with a few of his peers, he worked to create a club which promoted women’s involvement in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields at a young age. Connor and his peers began tutoring, doing demonstrations and talks at various schools in the district, as well as offering tutoring in Math and Science for students in all grades in order to achieve the goals they set for their club. As the President of National Honor Society, Connor puts in countless hours each week keeping track of all of the members underneath him and correlating with the NHS sponsor to reach out to head members in the Cabot community in order to create new and abundant community service opportunities for NHS members. He is also an active participant in Be The Match, a program that reaches out to find Bone Marrow donors for people with certain types of cancer.
College/Military Plans: Connor plans to attend Washington University in St. Louis for an undergraduate degree in BioChemistry with a minor in Astroparticle Physics. He then hopes to go on to Medical School at WashU.

CHS Check Out Policy
CHS students will be allowed to check out with a parent/guardian note only. A parent/guardian phone number will need to be included on the checkout note for verification purposes.
***No phone call checkouts will be allowed because of safety concerns.
CHS is a closed campus and we strongly discourage students from checking out at lunch. This typically causes unnecessary tardies and classroom interruptions. If a student is checking out at lunch, a parent/guardian must physically come in and sign the student out and them back in from lunch.
Only a parent/guardian is allowed to drop lunch off for a student. If a parent/guardian is dropping off lunch for a student, there will be a table (outside the office) with a sharpie for the students name to be written on it. Students should know in advance that lunch is being dropped off to them.
